A monumental real-life treasure hunt, dubbed "The Lost Treasure of Edward Kenway," has been announced, offering a grand prize of $500,000. This impressive hoard includes specially minted gold coins valued at $350,000 and a striking red opal-adorned crystal skull worth an additional $150,000, a direct homage to the game's central mystery.
The elaborate quest, a collaboration with Unsolved Hunts, features 15 complex riddles. Although themed around the world of Assassin's Creed Black Flag, no prior game knowledge is required to participate. Access to the clues begins on November 9, with the full experience designed to be a long-term engagement, potentially spanning two to five years to solve.
Teams are encouraged to work together on the puzzles, which can be solved remotely, eliminating the need for immediate travel. However, the physical treasure is located somewhere within the Caribbean, necessitating a valid passport for the eventual claimant. While pre-orders are open, the full challenge commences in November.
