A key session at Tokyo's TIFFCOM market on October 30 will focus on building Asia-Europe co-productions. Titled "Building Creative Partnerships," the panel will feature industry professionals discussing how to elevate international film projects through collaboration. This event runs concurrently with the Tokyo International Film Festival.
Producers Mizuno-Gray Eiko and Christophe Bruncher, who worked on the Cannes title "Renoir," are among the confirmed speakers. They will share case studies of successful co-productions. Mizuno-Gray's previous credits include "Plan 75," Japan's Oscar entry in 2022.
Additionally, Japanese accelerator Atmovie Global Track is formalizing a partnership with the Europe-based workshop Ties That Bind. This collaboration aims to prepare Japanese filmmakers for the international co-production market through mentorship and project development sessions.
The program, curated by Alessandro Gropplero, seeks to address challenges in cross-cultural trust and communication within the film industry. Support for these initiatives comes from the Japan Creator Support Fund.
