Actor Ashwath Bhatt Brings 'Avalanche' to Ahmedabad

Actor Ashwath Bhatt will present his renowned play, 'Avalanche,' in Ahmedabad for the first time on Sunday, February 15, as part of the Bharat Rang Mahotsav. Bhatt, recognized for his intense performances in films such as 'The Diplomat' and 'Sita Ramam,' expressed a desire to explore comedy roles, noting that his typical intense roles sometimes lead to typecasting.

Bhatt shared his views on the evolving landscape of cinema, highlighting the transformative impact of OTT platforms. He observed that these digital spaces have created numerous opportunities for actors, enabling talent that might have previously gone unnoticed to achieve recognition. He also commented on the challenges faced by independent cinema, emphasizing the need for dedicated spaces to ensure its survival amidst the dominance of big-star films.

Reflecting on his personal journey, Bhatt mentioned how art, particularly red nose clowning, helped him navigate trauma and heal. He discussed his 'Theatre Garage Project,' which aims to spread joy by engaging with communities in places like orphanages and cancer hospitals. Bhatt also spoke about his long-standing engagement with playing Manto, stating it has profoundly shaped him as a person. He expressed a desire to return to his roots in Kashmir and contribute to his community.
