Bhosle's final public appearance was on March 5 at the wedding of Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar, held at Mumbai's St. Regis Hotel. She was seen in a simple white saree, offering blessings to the newlyweds.
Admitted to Breach Candy Hospital on April 11 due to a chest infection and extreme exhaustion, Bhosle's health had been a concern. Her passing marks the end of an era for Indian music. Over her career, which spanned more than eight decades, she lent her voice to over 12,000 songs in more than 20 languages.
A recipient of two National Film Awards, the Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 2000, and the Padma Vibhushan in 2008, Bhosle was celebrated for her remarkable versatility. Her discography encompassed film music, classical, bhajans, ghazals, folk, and qawwali, showcasing her unparalleled contribution to the music industry.
