Summary
- Asha Bhosle, aged 91, recorded a devotional song for Ashapura Mata.
- The bhajan aims to praise the deity's nurturing and compassionate qualities.
- Mahesh Rathore, former aide to Lata Mangeshkar, requested the recording.

Barely a month after her 91st birthday, Asha Bhosle stepped into a recording studio in October 2024 to record a devotional song. The bhajan is a tribute to Ashapura Mata, a deity revered as a 'kuldevi' by many communities in Gujarat, highlighting her compassionate and nurturing attributes.
The initiative came at the request of Mahesh Rathore, who served as Lata Mangeshkar's secretary for 28 years. Rathore conveyed the wish of Pujya Bhaijee from the Ashapura Mata temple in Padavla, Gondal, to Asha Bhosle, who readily agreed to lend her voice.
The devotional track was penned by Ravi Chopra and composed by Shiva Chopra. This follows a precedent set in 2021 when Usha Mangeshkar also recorded a bhajan for the deity, which Lata Mangeshkar had appreciated.
Rathore shared his emotional connection, recalling Asha Bhosle's affection for his family and her encouragement for his children's education. He expressed gratitude for the warmth and support he received from her over the years.
