On November 14, 2025, ASCAP's annual Women Behind the Music event celebrated the accomplishments of three exceptional women in the music industry. Kehlani, Kali Uchis, and EJAE were honored for their artistry, cultural impact, and significant contributions.
Kehlani and EJAE, who is part of the HUNTR/X trio behind the hit K-Pop song "Golden," were recognized as newly minted 2026 Grammy nominees. Meanwhile, Grammy-winning artist Kali Uchis has reached the prestigious Spotify Billions Club four times.
The trio were presented with personalized plaques by ASCAP executive Nicole George-Middleton, who praised their "impactful contributions to the music community" and expressed hope that their achievements would inspire the next generation of young women in the industry.
The event also featured appearances from other notable figures, including Cheryl "Salt" James of Salt-N-Pepa and award-winning songwriter Diane Warren. ASCAP's Women Behind the Music initiative has been spotlighting influential women in music for 17 years, with past honorees including Kelly Rowland, Coco Jones, and Jazmine Sullivan.
