ASCAP Awards Split Documentary Score Categories
20 Feb
Summary
- The Composers Choice Award is now split into two categories.
- Winners will be announced at an April 28th event in Los Angeles.
- Voting for nominees is open until March 6.

The ASCAP Composers' Choice Awards have expanded by dividing the former Documentary Score of the Year into two distinct categories: Documentary Film Score of the Year and Documentary Series Score of the Year. This change allows for more specific recognition of composers' work in documentary filmmaking and television.
The ASCAP community of composers uses these awards to honor the artistic accomplishments of their peers. Nominations are made by a panel comprising industry leaders and fellow composers. Eligible ASCAP writer members can cast their votes online until March 6 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
Winners are slated to be announced on April 28. This announcement will occur during a celebratory event in Los Angeles, honoring the recipients of the 2026 ASCAP Screen Music Awards.
