Artist Crafts Community: A Winter Gathering

Artist Jennie Jieun Lee, known for her collaborative spirit, celebrated her inaugural solo museum show with a unique gathering. Hosted at her 1920s farmhouse in Sullivan County, New York, the event brought friends together for an afternoon of community and crafts.

Lee, who moved to the area from California in 2020, opened her personal studio for the occasion. Guests were treated to mocktails and a charcuterie spread before participating in a creative session. They decorated bisque-fired porcelain pieces, including animal-shaped vessels, large vases, and unicorn figures, utilizing glazing supplies provided by Lee.

Another group focused on decorating ceramic cards with festive designs. This communal crafting event reflects Lee's artistic philosophy, which emphasizes shared creation and togetherness, inspired in part by spontaneous acts of collective expression she observed.
