The character-driven romantic drama Arthur & Clara, marking Kieran Bourne's feature directorial debut, is set for its world premiere at the Austin Film Festival, scheduled from October 29 to November 5. This independent film, also the first feature from Candid Broads Productions, stars Mirren Mack and CJ Beckford.
Beckford portrays a filmmaker, and Mack an actress, both seeking personal reinvention by retreating to the same isolated farmhouse. Their shared refuge unexpectedly leads them to discover that true self-discovery often comes through being truly seen by another.
"Set in the quiet isolation of the British countryside, Arthur & Clara is an intimate exploration of identity and genuine connection," Candid Broads stated. Bourne emphasized the film's relevance in an era of diminished in-person interactions, highlighting its mission to showcase not only interpersonal bonds but also the vital connection with oneself.
Producer Oriane Pick expressed Candid Broads' enthusiasm for championing poetic and emotionally resonant stories, aligning with their mission. The film was shot on location in Kent earlier this year, with Tamás Apor Méder serving as director of photography.
