A recent cultural event, 'After Hours,' transformed QLA, Mehrauli into a vibrant hub where art discourse merged with lively celebration. Hosted by Dhoomimal Gallery and Gallery Silver Scapes, the evening attracted over seven hundred guests and featured music and dancing well into the early hours, reminiscent of an after-hours party.
The event's core was a focused exploration of Indian modernism through works by Abdulrahim Appabhai Almelkar and Akkitham Narayanan. A significant highlight was the launch of 'Almelkar: The Resurrection - Letters & Lines of a Master,' a publication offering deep insights into Almelkar's life and philosophy through his correspondence and critical essays.
Akkitham Narayanan's abstract pieces, inspired by sacred geometry, provided a contrasting visual experience. The diverse guest list included prominent figures from art, fashion, design, and diplomacy, fostering a unique intergenerational exchange and demonstrating how modernist legacies can be celebrated vibrantly beyond traditional gallery settings.
