New York is currently hosting three exhibitions that illuminate the dynamic relationships between artists. Yares Art presents "Frankenthaler + Caro: Similitudes," showcasing the profound friendship and artistic dialogue between painter Helen Frankenthaler and sculptor Anthony Caro. Their works, often reflecting similar explorations of color and form, are displayed together, highlighting their mutual influence and daring creative spirit. This exhibition runs through July 11.
The Museum of Modern Art features "Frida and Diego: The Last Dream," an exhibition focusing on the complex marital and artistic partnership of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera. Presented in conjunction with an opera about their lives, the show offers a unique perspective on their work, with an installation designed to evoke a surreal atmosphere. This exhibition is on view until September 12.
Additionally, Brooklyn's Center for Art and Advocacy hosts "A Language We Share: Beverly Price and Gordon Parks." This exhibition pairs the photography of Gordon Parks with that of contemporary artist Beverly Price. Though they never met, their works share generational influences and common interests, particularly in capturing moments of Black life and childhood. This show concludes on June 19.
