Indira Dhar's debut Hindi film, inspired by a Kolkata Army family, was recently screened exclusively for 500 soldiers at Fort William. This special event allowed serving Army personnel to experience a film centered on the sacrifices and daily lives of military families.
The movie features Divya Dutta and Neeraj Kabi in lead roles, bringing to life the story of Shukla Bandopadhyay, the mother of a braveheart soldier, Captain Anirban Bandopadhyay, and wife of late Colonel Rabindranath Bandopadhyay. This screening was particularly meaningful as it honored the real-life inspiration behind the film.
Director Indira Dhar stated that the film is a tribute to the courage of Army families and that sharing it with soldiers makes the journey significant. The film previously premiered at the 82nd Venice International Film Festival.
Marking Dhar's Hindi cinema debut after 'Putul', the film is anticipated for a global release towards the end of 2026. This Fort William screening was the film's inaugural Army-only event, offering a unique viewing experience.
