Armie Hammer Returns in New Action Thriller 'Tokyo Blitz'

Armie Hammer is returning to the screen in the action-thriller "Tokyo Blitz," which recently completed filming in Los Angeles. Film Mode Entertainment has secured worldwide sales rights and will offer potential buyers a first look at the movie during the American Film Market next month.

The plot of "Tokyo Blitz" centers on a Yakuza enforcer's desperate attempt to protect his family from a deadly American hitman. The film's logline describes a ruthless enforcer drawn into a violent conflict over Tokyo's first legal casino, leading to a collision course with Hammer's character, an elite hitman.

Directed and written by Garrett Glassell, the film also features Joey Chase, Koalei Seewald, Yuwi, Nobuaki Shimamoto, and John Kim. "Tokyo Blitz" is described by producer Keli Price as an action-thriller with "real heart" and a "visceral and deeply personal" world created by Glassell.

The release of "Tokyo Blitz" follows the controversy surrounding Hammer's previous film, "Citizen Vigilante," which faced backlash for its graphic violence and perceived anti-immigrant themes. "Citizen Vigilante" was initially denied a home-video classification in Germany before receiving an 18+ rating. Elon Musk also promoted "Citizen Vigilante" by sharing it on X, leading to its rise on digital streaming charts.
