Arijit Singh's Comeback: 'Awarapan 2' Title Track Stuns Fans

Music composer Amaal Mallik has shed light on Arijit Singh's return to playback singing for the title track of the upcoming film 'Awarapan 2.' This collaboration has captured considerable attention, especially given Arijit's earlier announcement of retiring from playback singing. Mallik has stated that the singer's participation was not based on any old commitments or a re-recording of a previously sung track. The melody for the song was shared with Arijit several months ago, and he only agreed to sing it last week.

According to Mallik, Arijit Singh's decision was influenced by a combination of factors including mutual respect, friendship, and his appreciation for the film's producers and actor. However, the composer stressed that the song's melody itself was the most critical element. Arijit only accepts songs that deeply connect with him emotionally, and the title track of 'Awarapan 2' achieved this connection.

Mallik further expressed his admiration for Arijit's vocal performance on the title track, describing it as exceptional and a highlight of the project. He suggested that only a truly outstanding melody could have persuaded Arijit to return to playback singing. The song 'Yeh Awarapan' follows the positive reception of the film's earlier track, 'Ve Junoon,' and reunites Arijit Singh, Amaal Mallik, and lyricists Rashmi-Virag for an emotional composition.

'Awarapan 2' stars Emraan Hashmi reprising his role as Shivam Pandit, alongside Disha Patani and Shabana Azmi. Directed by Nitin Kakkar and written by Bilal Siddiqi, the film is set for a worldwide theatrical release on August 14, 2026.
