Madix on St. Denis: 'Biggest Challenge' Revealed

Ariana Madix is embracing the complexities of her recurring role as Dr. Brooke Emerson on the NBC sitcom 'St. Denis Medical.' The actress, who rose to fame on 'Vanderpump Rules,' shared that the medical terminology and precise pronunciations required for her character, a heart surgeon, have been the most significant challenge in her acting career.

Madix, 40, commended the production for providing real medical professionals on set during surgery scenes. This ensured authenticity and allowed her to learn techniques like suturing, even if her on-screen precision was aided by the professionals. She emphasized the importance of accurate medical language to maintain viewer immersion.

'St. Denis Medical,' which premiered in 2024, depicts the daily struggles of overworked staff at an underfunded Oregon hospital. Madix joined in season 2, portraying an ex-partner of Josh Lawson's character, Bruce. This recurring role marks a return to her scripted acting roots, a path she pursued long before her reality TV fame.

Expressing her admiration for the show, Madix described 'St. Denis Medical' as one of the best current comedies on television, a show she had always aspired to be a part of. The mockumentary style of filming also offered a unique and inspiring creative experience for the actress.

While the second season is concluding, Madix expressed a strong desire to return for future seasons and explore her character's life outside the hospital. The actress also hosts Peacock's 'Love Island' and hinted at the possibility of a spin-off for her character, stating, "Maybe one day."

'St. Denis Medical' airs Mondays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC and has been renewed for a third season. It is available for streaming on Peacock and Netflix.
