Ariana Grande has unveiled the music video for "petal," the newest single from her eighth studio album, released on July 31.
In the video, Grande portrays Pepper, a hopeful actress navigating a series of audition rejections at Fame Inc, reflecting her own industry journey. The visual takes a starkly different direction from expectations.
The song's lyrics, "All of my favorite stories end in some kind of catastrophe," foreshadow the video's conclusion. It culminates in a brutal chainsaw massacre, with Pepper exacting revenge on executives who criticized her.
Despite stepping away from "American Horror Story" earlier this year, Grande proves her capability as a "scream queen" in this dramatic visual.
