In an unprecedented move, Archie Comics is collaborating with Oni Press to launch a distinctly original and stylistically reimagined collection of monthly comic series and graphic novels. This ambitious project, slated for release in the second half of 2026, will feature the beloved characters of Riverdale, including Archie, Betty, Veronica, and Sabrina the Teenage Witch, through a partnership with another publisher for the first time. Top creators from the independent comics world, such as W. Maxwell Prince and Corinna Bechko, are set to write and draw the initial wave of books.
The initiative aims to offer a fresh perspective on the iconic characters, moving beyond their traditional narratives. Oni Press president Hunter Gorinson expressed the challenge of doing something new for 2026, drawing inspiration from works like "All-Star Superman." The partnership extends beyond new monthly releases, with plans for extensive collections showcasing all eras of Archie's history, from original creators to modern talents, and a new line of middle-grade and young adult graphic novels debuting in 2027.
