In a major move, Apple Original Films has landed the rights to adapt the Dark Horse comic 'Last Flight Out' in a seven-figure deal. The company is teaming up with director Sam Hargrave, who is in talks to helm the project.
Hargrave, known for his action-heavy work on films like Extraction and the Apple TV series The Last Frontier, is seen as the perfect fit to bring the apocalyptic graphic novel to life. The story, adapted from Marc Guggenheim's critically-acclaimed work and illustrated by Eduardo Ferigato, follows a father and daughter trying to reconcile as the world comes to an end.
Guggenheim, one of the architects behind the Arrowverse, will adapt the script, while Chernin Entertainment's Peter Chernin and David Ready, along with Dark Horse Entertainment's Mike Richardson and Keith Goldberg, are set to produce.

This marks the latest collaboration between Apple and Hargrave, who recently worked together on the upcoming tentpole Matchbox starring John Cena. With Hargrave's proven track record in the action genre, Apple and Chernin view 'Last Flight Out' as a major event film that could become a standout addition to the director's upcoming slate.
