Curry Barker's New Film Arrives May 2027

Curry Barker's next directorial effort, Anything But Ghosts, will be released by Focus Features on May 7, 2027. This comedic horror film follows Barker and his writing partner Cooper Tomlinson, who also star as aspiring ghosthunters. The duo penned the script before the massive success of their previous film, Obsession, which became the studio's highest-grossing movie ever.

Anything But Ghosts boasts a production budget of approximately $5 million and features a cast including Aaron Paul and Bryce Dallas Howard. Barker expressed that while the new film will be distinct from Obsession, his signature directorial voice will remain prominent. Obsession, which grossed over $500 million globally and is considered the fifth highest-grossing horror movie of all time, was acquired by Focus Features for $15 million at the 2025 Toronto Film Festival.
