Summary
- Anthea Turner prefers smaller ceremonies now.
- Her past wedding faced backlash for a 'Flake Gate' incident.
- She feels given a second chance at love and family.

TV presenter Anthea Turner, aged 65, has shared her current inclination towards smaller wedding ceremonies, contrasting with the lavish events that were once popular. Turner, who became engaged to businessman Mark Armstrong in September 2019, reflected on her own extravagant 2000 wedding to Grant Bovey. This past ceremony drew significant public backlash due to a promotional tie-in involving Cadbury's Snowflake bars, an event she now describes as overwhelming.
Turner explained that she felt "bamboozled" into the large-scale wedding and that "flashy" events are becoming less fashionable. She expressed contentment with her current engagement, stating she has been "given a second chance at love and family life." This sentiment follows two previous marriages, one to DJ Peter Powell and the other to property developer Grant Bovey, which concluded in 2015 due to his adultery.
Turner, who is now a grandmother, has expressed that relationships in her 60s are about more than just companionship, crediting her fiancé with reigniting her desire. She remains on good terms with her ex-husband Grant Bovey's children, particularly his daughter Claudia, who recently welcomed a baby, making Turner "Granny Anth."
