24 Feb
Summary
- A judge overturned a $119,000 judgment against Anstead and Button.
- Anstead and Button were not properly served with the lawsuit.
- The case is still ongoing, with a May 7 conference scheduled.

A $119,000 judgment against Ant Anstead and Jenson Button has been overturned by a judge. The court agreed with the defendants that they were improperly served with the lawsuit initiated by Timothy Tasker. This ruling set aside the default judgment entered on September 23, 2025.
Anstead and Button's legal team argued successfully that Anstead did not receive the summons and complaint properly. The court found that the service was invalid, partly because the person served as a co-occupant was not a known member of Anstead's household. The default judgment was therefore deemed void.
Despite this favorable ruling, the lawsuit filed by Tasker against the businessmen remains ongoing. A further conference is scheduled for May 7. Tasker had sued Anstead and Button over an alleged failure to deliver a car after receiving $100,000.
Separately, Ant Anstead is also involved in another legal matter concerning a houseguest's alleged injury at a California rental property he shares with Renée Zellweger. They claim Zellweger had no duty regarding the property's conditions.
