Amazon Adapts Todd's Elite Boarding School Romance

Amazon MGM Studios is developing a new series based on Anna Todd's upcoming romance novel, 'House of Crowns.' The story is set at an exclusive boarding school in Switzerland, a place where children of royalty and world leaders are educated. It focuses on the dangerous, forbidden love that blossoms between a student on scholarship and an heiress harboring dark secrets.

Elinor Cook, known for adapting 'Boys of Tommen,' has been tapped to write the series. While not officially confirmed, sources indicate Jennifer Gibgot, Andrew Panay, Lena Roklin, and Will Gould are attached as producers, with Anna Todd also serving as an executive producer. The project is in its early stages of development and is being handled by Amazon MGM's UK division.

This adaptation signifies a significant step in Todd's transition from author to filmmaker. Her previous work, the 'After' series, achieved global success, selling millions of copies and spawning a film franchise that grossed $170 million worldwide. Todd also recently produced adaptations of Colleen Hoover's 'Regretting You' and her own novel 'The Last Sunrise,' which is set to premiere on August 26.
