The event, scheduled for May 14, 2026, will be held at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Blum, the founder of Blumhouse, will receive the Business Visionary Award, joining past recipients like Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos.
Ann Patchett, celebrated for her poignant storytelling and dedication to the literary community, will be honored with the PEN/Audible Literary Service Award. Her past accolades include the PEN/Faulkner Award and the National Humanities Medal. Patchett also owns the Nashville-based bookstore, Parnassus Books.
Blum, known for producing popular horror franchises such as Halloween and The Purge, has also earned Emmy Awards and a Producers Guild of America Award. PEN America cited Blum's "audacious approach" and "fearless vision" in shaping culture through storytelling.
