Anticipation built at the India Islamic Cultural Centre for Dayar-e-Ishq, a Sufi and ghazal performance by Anita Singhvi. The event commenced late due to city traffic impacting the arrival of dignitaries, including the Lieutenant Governor.
Once on stage with her ensemble, Singhvi began with beloved ghazals by Shakeel Badayuni, treating each composition as a dialogue. Her performance captivated attendees for nearly two hours.
Lieutenant Governor Vinai Saxena commended Singhvi's voice, describing it as possessing refinement, spiritual depth, and genuine simplicity. He remarked on music's profound ability to foster introspection and connection, stating, "Shayari insaan ko insaan se jodti hai aur mazhab ko mohabbat mein dhaal deti hai."
Nasir Ali, chairman of the Indian Heritage and Health Care Centre, who organized the event, highlighted the lasting impact of sound and Singhvi's voice. He noted that her "velvety voice seems to bridge creation and creator."
