14 Mar
Summary
- Kapoor declined a cameo in Dhurandhar: The Revenge due to prior commitments.
- He rejected Baazigar, feeling its subject was too risky at the time.
- Kapoor turned down Chandni because the character uses a wheelchair.

Anil Kapoor, a prominent figure in Bollywood for decades, has a history of declining major film projects. He recently revealed he could not accept a cameo in Aditya Dhar's upcoming action thriller, Dhurandhar: The Revenge. This decision was due to a pre-existing professional commitment, prioritizing his word to another filmmaker.
Kapoor's career has seen him pass on several films that later became significant hits. He rejected the lead role in the thriller Baazigar, deeming its narrative too risky at the time, a choice that significantly boosted Shah Rukh Khan's career. Similarly, he declined the lead in the supernatural horror film Raaz, as he wasn't interested in the genre then.
Further notable rejections include Yash Chopra's romantic film Chandni, where Kapoor cited his reluctance to play a character confined to a wheelchair for a significant portion of the story. He also reportedly passed on the role of Thakur Bhanu Pratap in Sooryavansham, a character he and others felt was too aged. Most recently, Kapoor did not return for the third installment of the Welcome franchise due to production issues from the prior sequel.
