Anil Kapoor Returns to Telugu Cinema After 46 Years for Dragon

Anil Kapoor has arrived in Hyderabad to commence filming for Prashanth Neel's highly anticipated Pan-India film, Dragon. Starring Jr NTR in the lead, the movie is slated for a major theatrical release on June 11, 2027. Kapoor's role is Raghuveer Rathod, Chief of India's Narcotics Bureau, who becomes a primary antagonist to Jr NTR's character, Luger.

This film signifies a significant career milestone for Anil Kapoor, marking his return to Telugu cinema after a 46-year absence. He previously debuted in Telugu with Vamsa Vruksham in 1980. Kapoor shared a nostalgic moment from Ramoji Film City, recalling a prediction from actress Kajol about him still filming there years later, which proved true on Kajol's birthday.

The narrative is set against the backdrop of the 1960s opium trade, focusing on the conflict between Rathod and Luger's expanding criminal network. Dragon is anticipated to be one of the most eagerly awaited Indian films, boasting a strong cast and Prashanth Neel's direction.
