Anees Bazmee discusses upcoming comedy with Balan and Kumar

Director Anees Bazmee has indicated that a fourth installment of the Bhool Bhulaiyaa franchise will only materialize if the team discovers a story compelling enough to match the previous films' caliber. Bazmee, who helmed Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 and 3, shared his positive working dynamic with actor Kartik Aaryan but stressed that the script's strength is paramount.

Bazmee elaborated that finding a new narrative for Bhool Bhulaiyaa is challenging, especially after the extensive plot elements used in the third film. He believes that a fantastic story is crucial, accounting for approximately seventy percent of a film's overall success. He also confirmed his involvement in an upcoming untitled comedy film.

This new comedy project pairs Bazmee with actors Vidya Balan and Akshay Kumar. Bazmee fondly recalled his past collaboration with Kumar on the Welcome franchise, noting the mutual respect and affection between them. He expressed enthusiasm for their reunion, aiming to create another well-received comedy.

Regarding the film 'Welcome to the Jungle,' for which Bazmee was initially considered to direct, he conveyed no animosity towards the production. He stated that all individuals involved in that project are his friends, including Ahmed Khan and Paresh Rawal. He mentioned enjoying watching the film and believes audiences will continue to embrace films with strong storytelling.
