Andrew Scott Stars in New 'Sea Wall' Film Adaptation

Andrew Scott will lead a forthcoming feature film version of Simon Stephens's solo play, 'Sea Wall.' This adaptation will be meticulously captured during 19 live performances at the Off-Broadway theater, Studio Seaview, scheduled from October 16 through October 30. The film aims to provide a comprehensive viewing experience by including behind-the-scenes footage of the backstage areas and the audience.

Simon Stephens originally penned 'Sea Wall' as an onstage monologue for Scott over a decade ago, leading to acclaimed runs in London and Edinburgh. The narrative centers on Alex, a London-based photographer and young father, whose idyllic life is dramatically altered by a sudden accident near the sea. This event compels him to confront the suddenness with which cherished moments can disappear.

A previously filmed version of 'Sea Wall' featuring Scott was released in 2012. This upcoming production precedes Scott's appearance in 'Elsinore,' which is slated for a November theatrical release. A distinct Broadway iteration of 'Sea Wall' in 2019 starred Tom Sturridge, presented alongside 'A Life,' another solo piece.
