Andrew Scott is slated to star alongside Emily Blunt in 'Walk the Blue Fields,' an upcoming film based on Claire Keegan's acclaimed romance short story. Netflix has boarded the project, with Compelling Pictures, Element Pictures, a Fremantle Company, and Ledbury Productions also involved.
John Crowley, known for 'Brooklyn,' is in negotiations to direct the film in his native Ireland. The script is penned by Conor McPherson, a playwright and screenwriter with multiple Tony nominations. The narrative follows a woman confronted by a past love triangle on her wedding day.
Producers Denis O'Sullivan and Jeff Kalligheri of Compelling Pictures will finance and produce the film. Emily Blunt will produce through her Ledbury Productions, alongside Ed Guiney and Andrew Lowe for Fremantle Company. Several others are set to executive produce, including Ori Allon, Matthew Gallagher, Dennis Casali, Steven Garcia, Crowley, McPherson, Claire Keegan, and Edmund Sampson.
Scott's recent appearances include the Oscar-nominated 'Blue Moon' and 'Wake Up Dead Man' from the 'Knives Out' series. His upcoming projects include the World War II film 'Pressure' and 'A Place In Hell.'
