His 2009 memoir, 'Open', revealed a difficult childhood and intense pressure from his father, leading him to a renowned tennis academy at age 13.
In 'Open', Agassi also disclosed his use of crystal meth during a career slump in the mid-1990s, a period that coincided with his divorce from Brooke Shields. Despite these challenges, he made a significant comeback, notably winning the French Open and another U.S. Open, before retiring in 2006.
