Actress Anaswara Rajan's Vishu celebrations are deeply intertwined with her hometown of Kannur. She fondly remembers the ritualistic 'kani' setup adorned with fresh 'kanikonna' flowers and the distinct fragrance of oil lamps and freshly prepared 'unniyappam' that marked Vishu mornings. These festive aromas are a significant part of her childhood recollections.
Family traditions formed the core of the festival for Rajan. She recalls the excitement of receiving new clothes, 'Vishu kodi', and coordinating outfits with her cousins. Although the practice of receiving 'kaineetam' from elders has diminished, the tradition of enjoying an elaborate 'sadhya' on Vishu day remains a cherished constant.
In recent years, Anaswara Rajan's professional commitments have led her to spend Vishu away from home. She spent the last two Vishu festivals filming and will be in Hyderabad for the current year's celebration, missing the mandatory 'sadhya'. She is currently engaged in two upcoming Telugu films and a Tamil project, '7/G, Rainbow Colony 2', while also considering Malayalam scripts.
