Summary
- Ananthan Kaadu premieres on OTT on September 2.
- The film is set in 1990s Kerala amidst political turmoil.
- It features Arya in a central role as Vetrivel Kumaran.
The mystery and thriller film 'Ananthan Kaadu' will be available on OTT platforms starting September 2, following its theatrical release earlier this year on June 25.
Set during the politically volatile 1990s in Kerala, the movie delves into the lives of working-class individuals in Thiruvananthapuram who become entangled with political agendas and influential figures. Jiyen Krishnakumar directed the film, with Murali Gopy penning the script and also appearing in the cast.
Murali Gopy, alongside actors like Indrans, Vijayaraghavan, and Santhi Balachandran, supports Arya's portrayal of Vetrivel Kumaran. The narrative weaves personal journeys into broader storylines, influenced by the period's political developments and the backdrop of the Sri Lankan Civil War.
Critics have noted that while Arya is central, his character's impact could have been stronger, with his personal story sometimes overshadowed by multiple subplots. The film attempts to blend action with political drama, exploring the personal toll of such conflicts.
