In the past few years, comedian and actress Amy Schumer, 44, has been open about her weight loss journey, including her experiences with weight loss drugs Ozempic and Mounjaro. As of October 2025, Schumer recently shared a photo on Instagram showcasing her dramatic weight loss, with friends and fans praising her transformation.
Schumer has been transparent about the challenges she faced with Ozempic, a weight loss drug she tried nearly three years ago. She revealed that due to a specific gene, GDF15, she experienced severe side effects like nausea and lack of energy, making it difficult to even play with her 6-year-old son. However, Schumer has since found a combination of medications that have yielded positive results, including estrogen and progesterone for her perimenopause symptoms, as well as Mounjaro, a GLP-1 drug for type 2 diabetes that is also often prescribed for weight loss.
In March 2025, Schumer shared on Instagram that her perimenopause symptoms have disappeared, her hair is fuller, her skin is better, and she has more energy, crediting her new medication regimen. The Trainwreck actress has emphasized the importance of being upfront about weight loss and her health, stating that "everybody on camera is doing this s---, I just wanted to be real about it."
