Iranian writer-director Farbod Ardebili has completed filming for his debut feature, 'The American Winner,' a satirical horror movie shot in Los Angeles. The film stars Flula Borg as a manipulative tech billionaire who resides in isolation. His life takes a disturbing turn when he must protect a strange entity he has accidentally impregnated.
The entire production is set within the opulent bathroom of the billionaire's Silicon Valley residence. This confined setting promises a claustrophobic and intense viewing experience. The film is produced by Dane and Cole Eckerle of Bad Grey, alongside Daniel Brandt and Mark Finley of Plain Text.
'The American Winner' draws comparisons to 'American Psycho' and 'The Thing,' blending horror with sharp social commentary. Academy Award winner Troy Kotsur also stars in the film. Ardebili, who immigrated to the U.S. in 2014, has previously screened his work at major genre festivals.
