American Football has officially announced their fourth studio album, titled LP 4, which is set to be released on May 1st. Today, the band shared the lead single from the album, an extended track named "Bad Moons." This new song originated from the merging of two distinct musical ideas into a single, cohesive piece.
Frontman Mike Kinsella described the song's conception as starting with two "children" metaphorically living in a "trench coat," carrying the weight of adult mistakes and guilt. The accompanying music video for "Bad Moons" was directed by Alex Acy and Rémi Belleville. Following the album's release, American Football plans to embark on an extensive tour across North America and Europe.
A portion of the revenue generated from ticket sales on this tour will be donated. Specifically, one dollar, pound, or euro will be contributed to Safe Passage International and the Illinois Coalition for Immigration & Refugee Rights for every ticket sold, highlighting the band's philanthropic efforts.
