Ameesha Patel Faces New Warrant Over Old Dispute
17 Feb
Summary
- A non-bailable warrant was issued for Ameesha Patel by a Moradabad court.
- The case involves a decade-old dispute over Rs 11 lakh payment for an event.
- Patel claims the issue is settled, and legal action will be taken against false allegations.

A non-bailable warrant was issued for Bollywood actor Ameesha Patel by the Moradabad ACJM-5 court on Monday. This action was taken due to her absence from a scheduled hearing concerning a dispute from 2017. The court has now directed Patel to appear before it on March 27.
The case originates from a complaint filed by Moradabad-based event manager Pawan Verma. Verma alleged that Patel charged Rs 11 lakh to attend a wedding event but failed to appear after receiving the payment. He further claimed she demanded an additional Rs 2 lakh upon arrival, subsequently returning to Mumbai when the extra sum was refused.
This legal battle has been ongoing for nearly a decade. Patel had previously appeared before the Moradabad court approximately two years ago and obtained bail. However, it is alleged that she did not adhere to the bail conditions thereafter, leading to the re-issuance of the non-bailable warrant.
Representing the complainant, advocate Pankaj Sharma stated that the court has summoned Patel to appear on March 27. Patel, however, has described the proceedings as stemming from a "15 year old matter" that was settled and has accused the complainant of lodging false allegations to gain attention. Her legal team is reportedly initiating criminal proceedings for cheating against him.
