13 Mar
Summary
- Ad-free Prime Video now costs $4.99, up from $2.99 monthly.
- New ad-free tier offers 4K/UHD, more simultaneous streams, and downloads.
- This change follows recent price increases across other major streaming services.

Prime Video's ad-free experience, now branded "Ultra," will see a price adjustment on April 10th, increasing to $4.99 per month from the previous $2.99. This move introduces several new features, including exclusive access to 4K/UHD streaming. Amazon states that these enhancements require significant investment, aligning their pricing with other major streaming services. The "Ultra" tier also boosts simultaneous stream support to five, up from three, and increases download capacity to 100 from 25, along with Dolby Atmos support. Meanwhile, the ad-supported tier will continue to offer HD/HDR streams, Dolby Vision, and live sports. This price adjustment occurs as anticipation builds for live-action adaptations of "Tomb Raider" and "God of War," following the success of "Fallout."
