Leg 6 of The Amazing Race Season 39, which began on the October 28 episode, is underway in Albania with the remaining teams. An alliance known as the 'Boss Lady Alliance' (BLA) has been formed among some of the all-female teams, with the explicit goal of ensuring an all-female victory.
The BLA currently consists of former professional soccer players and best friends Ali Krieger and Joanna Lohman, alongside mother and daughter duo Ann-Marie and Riely Tejcek. Ann-Marie and Riely recently made history as the first mother-daughter team to win a leg of the race in Morocco.
Prior to their elimination, sisters Saran and Dafina Dunmore, and best friends Jody Rebhun and Jenn Naso were also part of the alliance. The team of sisters Katie and Charlotte Schultz, eliminated second, never officially joined.
Eight teams are still in contention for the grand prize. Alongside the two BLA teams, other competitors include married couple Matt and Michelle Patterson, who are playing without an alliance. Other teams consist of married couple Erin Taylor and Javi Vintimilla, grandfather and grandson Doug and Dylan Matter, dating couple Daisha Wilks and Dalton Hamby, friends Conner Wilson and Garrett McGuire, and father and daughter Anuar Tager and Andrea Tager Ballesca.
Some teams, like the Pattersons, are focusing on individual performance. Tensions have also arisen, notably between Ann-Marie and Riely Tejcek and Daisha Wilks and Dalton Hamby following an incident in Leg 5 where assistance was not provided.
