Amanda Seyfried voices Cinderella in new twist

Amanda Seyfried has been cast as the voice of Cinderella in the new animated feature 'Steps.' The film is directed by Alyce Tzue and John Ripa, and Seyfried joins cast members Ali Wong and Stephanie Hsu.

'Steps' presents a contemporary take on the Cinderella narrative. It centers on Lilith, who finds herself accused of orchestrating chaos at the Royal Ball with a stolen magic wand. Her misadventure results in her sister Margot being turned into a frog, leaving a prince-obsessed mean girl in charge of the kingdom.

To rectify the situation, Lilith must forge an unlikely alliance with Cinderella and a charming troll. Their mission is to rescue the kingdom, mend the fractured fairytale, and champion the idea that characters often labeled as villains can also achieve a happily-ever-after.

Director Alyce Tzue expressed enthusiasm for Seyfried's casting, highlighting her ability to create relatable characters. Tzue noted that Seyfried perfectly captured the essence of a modern Cinderella, complete with human flaws and coping mechanisms, delivering a performance that is both humorous and poignant.
