Seyfried characterized the executive producer credit as a "vanity credit," suggesting it was given without significant production input. She contrasted her situation with that of fellow actor Margot Robbie, who she stated actively and intensely develops movies from their inception. Seyfried's primary contribution to 'The Housemaid,' she explained, was her role as an actress, after which she considered her work on the film complete.
