Wildfire Aftermath: Song Aids Altadena Healing

Canadian musician Chantal Kreviazuk is marking the one-year anniversary of the Altadena wildfires with the release of her new song and music video, "All the Walls Came Down." The track, which serves as the theme for a short documentary of the same name, aims to provide solace and support to a community still grappling with the aftermath of the January 2025 tragedy.

The accompanying music video intersperses lyrics with footage of Altadena residents engaged in recovery efforts and poignant scenes from the wildfires. Kreviazuk expressed that creating the song was therapeutic and hopes it contributes to the community's healing. Directed by Ondi Timoner, the documentary captures the rebuilding process and the fight to preserve the historic Black community.

This initiative has galvanized support, with a Change.org petition calling for a moratorium on foreclosures surpassing 1,500 signatures. The documentary and song have become anthems for Altadena, contributing hundreds of thousands of dollars toward recovery, and the film has earned an Oscar shortlist nomination.
