Saban Films has acquired the U.S. distribution rights for the upcoming survival thriller, "Alphas." This action-packed film is slated for a theatrical release in early 2027.
"Alphas" centers on a coastal town threatened by a series of great white shark attacks. In response, killer whales are introduced to drive the sharks away. However, the situation escalates when the apex great white proves too formidable to defeat.
A former local surfing champion and a retired orca trainer are then forced to take drastic measures. Their final, terrifying plan involves unleashing a previously unknown, exceptionally dangerous killer whale.
The film boasts a cast including Martin Henderson, Teagan Croft, and Charlotte Vega. It is directed by Liam O'Donnell and written by Frank Hannah. Producers include Christopher Tuffin, Renee Tab, and Joel Chikapa Phiri, with XYZ Films also involved.
