Summary
- Alison Oliver to star in Bad Bridgets thriller.
- Film inspired by Irish emigrant women's history.
- Project reteams Oliver with LuckyChap Entertainment.

Alison Oliver will now star in the period revenge thriller "Bad Bridgets," taking over the role previously held by Daisy Edgar Jones, who withdrew due to scheduling conflicts. The film is written and directed by Rich Peppiatt, known for his BAFTA-lauded "Kneecap." "Bad Bridgets" is produced by LuckyChap Entertainment, the company founded by Margot Robbie, and Peppiatt's banner, Coup d'Etat.
The narrative is deeply rooted in the historical book "Bad Bridget: Crime, Mayhem, and the Lives of Irish Emigrant Women" by Elaine Farrell and Leanne McCormick. This book explored the lives of Irish emigrant women who were often labeled as troublemakers, even outnumbering Irish men in prison at one point. The film's plot reportedly begins with a young woman's perilous journey from famine-stricken Ireland to 19th-century New York, where she joins the ranks of the notorious Bridgets.
This project signifies a continued collaboration between Oliver and LuckyChap. The actress previously co-starred with Margot Robbie in "Wuthering Heights" and appeared in the LuckyChap-produced drama "Saltburn." Award-winning production designer James Price and costume designer Kate Hawley are also attached to the film.
