Alicia Silverstone Laments Giving Away Cher's Iconic Clueless Wardrobe

In a recent interview, Alicia Silverstone, the actress who portrayed Cher Horowitz in the 1995 classic film Clueless, has disclosed that she no longer knows the whereabouts of the character's legendary wardrobe. Prior to filming Clueless, Silverstone, now 49 years old, considered herself a "T-shirt and jeans kind of girl" and was not particularly interested in fashion.

After the movie wrapped, Silverstone decided to give away all of Cher's preppy, over-the-top outfits, as she felt they did not align with her personal style. The lucky recipient of the wardrobe was director and screenwriter Gia Coppola, the granddaughter of renowned filmmaker Francis Ford Coppola. However, Silverstone laments that "Lord only knows what Gia's done with them" and that "Gia doesn't know where they are either, so she must have given them away, too."

Despite attempting to incorporate some of Cher's fashion sense into her own wardrobe after the film, Silverstone ultimately found it to be a "delusional idea" as she was not the same type of person as her character. As she reflects, "Who's wearing Mary Janes and high stockings everywhere you go?"

Silverstone is currently promoting her upcoming Netflix rom-com A Merry Little Ex-Mas, and she has also teased a Clueless sequel series in the works, which she is excited about and hopes will "honor what everyone loves about Clueless and Cher" while also bringing something "fresh and new" to the table.
