Alicia Keys & Swizz Beatz Join "Black Is Beautiful" Doc

Grammy winners Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz have boarded the documentary "Black Is Beautiful: The Kwame Brathwaite Story" as executive producers. This news follows the film's successful premieres and accolades, including the Audience Award for Best British Discovery at the BFI London Film Festival and Best Documentary Feature at the Pan African Film Festival.

The film, directed by Yemi Bamiro, explores the life of Kwame Brathwaite, a photographer and activist who was instrumental in the "Black Is Beautiful" movement. His extensive work, beginning in Harlem in the 1950s and continuing until his passing in 2023, documented both everyday people and iconic stars, spanning six decades of fashion, activism, music, and art.
