Alia Bhatt joins Tumbbad 2 horror sequel!

Alia Bhatt is set to star in Tumbbad 2, the upcoming sequel to the acclaimed 2018 fantasy horror film. The movie is slated for a theatrical release on December 3, 2027, with Adesh Prasad directing. Bhatt expressed her deep admiration for the original Tumbbad, citing its unique and immersive world-building.

She will share the screen with Sohum Shah and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, actors she has long admired. Bhatt's participation marks her third collaboration with Pen Studios, following successful projects like Gangubai Kathiawadi and RRR. Producer Dr. Jayantilal Gada noted Bhatt's perfect fit for the role, promising audiences a new and captivating portrayal.

Sohum Shah, who is reprising his role and expanding the Tumbbad universe, welcomed Bhatt, calling her one of the most talented actresses of the generation. The sequel aims to continue the story of the original film, which garnered critical acclaim for its blend of folklore, fantasy, and horror.
