Lete clarified that the televised romance was depicted as an "episode two" event, but in reality, it was a "slow burn" that unfolded over several weeks.

Their connection reportedly began playfully when Lete borrowed Bananas' clothes for a costume and left him a humorous note. This led to a "love letter" from Bananas, questioning her interest, to which she responded with a coy "maybe." The situation escalated in a bathtub, described by Lete as becoming "spicier."

Despite the developing intimacy on screen, Lete admitted that before filming, Johnny Bananas was not her first choice for a showmance. She was aware of his reputation as a "pot stirrer" and was hesitant to get involved in the drama he often brought. Although they did try to date after the show concluded, Lete stated that Bananas had expressed he wasn't ready for a relationship, and they ultimately decided to remain friends.
