Visual artist Alexandra Grant has introduced the second release of her LOVE Wine, a sparkling California Brut created in partnership with J Vineyards. Grant, who has long harbored a passion for winemaking stemming from a childhood experience in Paris, found the perfect collaborator in J Vineyards Estate Director Nicole Hitchcock.
The LOVE Wine initiative was born from Grant's desire to blend her artistic vision with her love for wine, while also championing female talent. The project seeks to support women in both the winemaking and broader creative fields.
The inaugural bottling featured a label by interdisciplinary artist Genevieve Gaignard. This second edition showcases a design by Sonoma graphic artist Blanca Molina, whose work draws inspiration from her Mexican roots and California upbringing.
Grant views winemaking as a process akin to creating art, emphasizing experimentation and adaptability. She likens the unpredictable nature of winemaking, from weather to pests, to the challenges and creative dance inherent in artistic production.
