Alex G has unveiled his latest musical offering, "Pain is the Heart of Love," a new song created in collaboration with Paul Buchanan of The Blue Nile. This track serves as a preview from the soundtrack for Jane Schoenbrun's forthcoming film, Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma.
The musical collaboration between Alex G and Schoenbrun is not new, as he previously scored her films "We're All Going to the World's Fair" (2022) and "I Saw the TV Glow" (2024). The new film centers on a young director's connection with a reclusive actress while rebooting a horror franchise.
The soundtrack for "Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma" is scheduled for release on August 21. It features a diverse lineup of artists, including R.E.M., Sally Shapiro, Donna Lewis, and Okay Kaya. This release follows Alex G's recent production work on Phoebe Bridgers' album "Lost Weekend" and his own North American tour.
