Brydie O'Connor's "Barbara Forever," which celebrates the life and work of pioneering queer experimental filmmaker Barbara Hammer, completes the list of recognized films.
The Albie Awards support the Harlem-based Maysles Documentary Center's free filmmaking education program for teenagers and its 50-seat theater, known as "Harlem's Living Room." The theater is the sole independent cinema serving Harlem, Upper Manhattan, and the Bronx. The awards ceremony and after-party will be held in Harlem.
